CMMC compliance services · Orlando, FL
CMMC compliance in Orlando for defense contractors that handle DoD information.
Tech Hero helps Central Florida defense contractors and subcontractors meet CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 requirements with managed IT, security controls and the documentation your assessment depends on.
Who needs CMMC compliance
- Prime contractors and subcontractors on DoD contracts
- Manufacturers, machine shops and engineering firms in the defense supply chain
- Businesses that receive Federal Contract Information (FCI)
- Businesses that handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
Why it matters
One program. Every system that touches DoD information.
The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program verifies that defense contractors protect Federal Contract Information and Controlled Unclassified Information. CMMC requirements began appearing in DoD contracts on November 10, 2025.
A condition of contract award
DoD contracts can require a specific CMMC level, and prime contractors must flow that requirement down to subcontractors that handle FCI or CUI.
Built on NIST SP 800-171
CMMC Level 2 maps to the 110 security requirements in NIST SP 800-171, which DFARS 252.204-7012 has required for contractors handling CUI since 2017.
Your score is on the record
Contractors post self-assessment scores in SPRS, and a senior official affirms compliance every year. Inaccurate claims have led to False Claims Act settlements.
The requirements

Audit logging
Logs that trace actions on CUI systems back to individual users.
Configuration management
Secure baselines, change control and an inventory of in-scope systems.
Incident response
A tested plan for handling incidents, including 72-hour reporting to DoD.
Training and personnel security
Security awareness training and screening for people with access to CUI.

Questions
Common CMMC questions
Which CMMC level do we need?
Level 1 applies if you handle only FCI, Level 2 if you handle CUI, and Level 3 covers a small number of the most sensitive programs. Your contract or prime contractor will state which level applies.
Is CMMC on hold?
Partly. As of November 2026, DoD has suspended Phase 2, which would have made third-party Level 2 assessments standard, while it reviews the program. Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments, NIST SP 800-171 and DFARS 252.204-7012 still apply.
Can Tech Hero certify us?
Certification assessments are performed by an authorized C3PAO, or by DoD for Level 3. We prepare your environment, write your documentation and support you through the assessment.
How long does getting compliant take?
It depends on your environment and how many gaps we find. Level 2 projects often take several months, so starting early matters. The gap assessment gives you a realistic plan and timeline.
